**Job Description:**

Experience working on large scale custom and tract home new construction, from slab to hot punch and warranty calls. Ability to read and interpret electrical drawings and blue prints. Must be able to install and run all electrical wiring, electrical components and fixtures.

• Work safely and responsibly to avoid injuries, damage to property, loss of unused material and clean up installation debris.

 • Read and interpret blueprints, diagrams, submittals, specifications, schematics and operation/product manuals.

• Maintain communications with customers and project managers to resolve customer issues.

• Ability to solve practical problems and carry out responsibilities without supervision.

• Perform some self-training to complete quality installations.

 • Complete necessary paperwork in an accurate and legible manner.

• Adhere to company policies including time and attendance, fleet, safety, dress codes, reporting, etc.

• Coach and mentor less experienced electricians.

• Fulfill On-Call rotation responsibilities as required.

 • Perform basic vehicle preventative maintenance and keep work truck clean and organized.

• Manage inventory and tools for each job to assure proper parts and tools are on hand.

The Residential Electrical Estimator is responsible for preparing accurate and competitive estimates for residential electrical projects. This position reviews plans, specifications, scope of work, and project requirements to determine labor, materials, equipment, subcontractor costs, and overall project pricing. The Estimator works closely with project managers, field personnel, vendors, builders, and customers to ensure estimates are complete, accurate, and submitted on time.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

• Review residential electrical plans, blueprints, specifications, and project documents.
• Perform detailed takeoffs for electrical materials, fixtures, devices, equipment, wire, conduit, panels, and other electrical components.
• Prepare accurate estimates for new construction, remodels, additions, and other residential electrical projects.
• Calculate labor hours and production requirements based on project scope and company standards.
• Obtain and evaluate material and equipment pricing from vendors and suppliers.
• Solicit and review subcontractor and supplier quotes when applicable.
• Identify project exclusions, inclusions, allowances, and potential scope gaps.
• Analyze plans and specifications to identify conflicts, omissions, and potential cost impacts.
• Prepare detailed proposals and estimates for review and submission.
• Maintain organized estimating records, bid documents, takeoffs, and pricing information.
• Communicate with builders, general contractors, customers, vendors, and internal personnel regarding project scope and pricing.
• Participate in pre-bid meetings, site visits, and project walkthroughs as needed.
• Assist with value engineering and identify cost-saving opportunities while maintaining code compliance and project requirements.
• Track bid results and maintain historical pricing information to improve future estimates.
• Assist project managers and operations personnel with change-order pricing and scope reviews.
• Stay current with applicable electrical codes, industry standards, material pricing, and construction practices.
• Meet established bid deadlines and company estimating procedures.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

• 2+ years of residential electrical estimating experience preferred.
• Strong knowledge of residential electrical systems and construction practices.
• Ability to read and interpret electrical plans, blueprints, specifications, and architectural drawings.
• Knowledge of the National Electrical Code (NEC) and applicable local electrical requirements.
• Strong understanding of electrical materials, labor requirements, and installation methods.
• Experience with estimating software, spreadsheets, and Microsoft Office.
• Strong mathematical and analytical skills.
• Excellent attention to detail and accuracy.
• Ability to manage multiple bids and deadlines simultaneously.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Preferred Qualifications

• Electrical contractor or field experience.
• Journeyman Electrician license or equivalent electrical experience.
• Experience estimating residential new construction.
• Experience with electrical estimating software Bluebeam, or similar programs.
• Experience with production-based residential electrical estimating.
• Knowledge of local permitting and inspection requirements.
